What information do we collect? How do we use it?

When registering or buying our product you may provide personal information which individually identifies you. We use that data to provide support in business related or IT operations and to perform additional processing where necessary (e.g. eligibility check from legislation or regulatory point of view).

We may also ask for your telephone and fax numbers which enables us to contact you urgently if there is a problem with your order. For some international deliveries this number may be given to our couriers.
We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes, problems or upgrades to our products and services.

Submission of the registration form indicates your consent to receive relevant marketing messages from us unless you have indicated an objection to receive such messages by ticking the ‘opt-out’ box during registration. We will retain your registration information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. How does Meridian handle data provided as OrthoView input/output

Meridian products deal with sensitive patient information. Including the web deployed products, OrthoView gives the user full control over accessing or administering the locations where these items are stored. Saving and handling such data in appropriate location is solely the responsibility of the OrthoView user. The web deployed products do not use Cloud network storage for X-Ray or exported materials.

In the course of providing technical support to you, we may sometimes have incidental access to data that you have provided to us or data that is located on your system. This data may contain information about you, your organization’s employees, customers, partners, or suppliers . Such data will only be used for the purposes for which it was provided - that is, to fix OrthoView defects or to support Meridian products or services. We will not disclose it to other parties, except to contractors of Meridian who we may use to help us fix defects or provide support; and we will delete, destroy or return it when it is no longer required. If you elect to have us return physical media, you will be responsible for arranging for return transport of the media.

How does Meridian protect customer information?

When you place orders or access your account information, we offer the use of a secure server. Furthermore, as required by the UK Data Protection Legislation, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you.
In addition, we reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, or the rights of others, or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our web sites.

Will Meridian disclose the information it collects to outside parties?

Meridian does not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. When you order templates, we may contact the Orthopaedic Manufacturers to obtain product data. We will only notify these companies of the name and address of your Institution unless we have permission from a user. We may notify you of product recalls and updates if required. Also Meridian may provide aggregate statistics about customers, sales, and related information to reputable third party vendors, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information.

We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include delivering packages, sending postal mail and e-mails, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analysing data, providing marketing assistance and providing customer services. Such companies and individuals will have access to personal information needed to perform these functions, but may not use it for any other purposes and are required to process the data in accordance with the UK's Data Protection legislation.

How does Meridian process online financial transactions?

For web deployed products you are able to pay the fee online. Meridian uses PayPal as payment processor, the financial transactions happen at PayPal’s secure site and we do not gather or store your credit card data. Your information collected for PayPal’s secure online payment system is governed by PayPal Privacy Policy.

Links to external web sites and third party applications

To allow you to interact with other web sites on which you may have accounts (such as LinkedIn and other social media sites) or join communities on such sites, we may provide links or embed third-party applications that allow you to login, post content or join communities from our web sites.
We may also provide you with general links to non-Meridian web sites (which are outside the domain).

Your use of these links and applications is subject to the third parties’ privacy policies, and you should become familiar with the third party sites' privacy policies before using the links or applications.
Meridian is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those other web sites.

What about "cookies"?

Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Cookies are required for the secure area of this site, but do not contain any of your personal data.
